Ever since I was a child, I have always liked building things with whatever I could find, such as: cardboard boxes, popsicle sticks, and dominos.  Drawing in my notebook has also always been a favorite pastime of mine.

After graduating from high school, I enrolled in the School of Architecture at the UNAM, the largest and most recognized university in Mexico and Latin America, because of my great interest in art and architecture. My knowledge of art helped me to excel and earn very good grades at the university. In my classes, I was always drawing my professors while they were teaching, and I even drew a picture of all of my professors of architecture that I framed, and that is now on display in the School of Architecture at the university.

My understanding and knowledge of the anthropometric measurements of the human body have been an invaluable tool for architectural design, as the end users that we design for are human beings. Perseverance, a great desire to learn, talent, and hard work are characteristics that I have possessed throughout life and that make me who I am today.

Another area in which I have a lot of experience is 3D design. While studying at the university, I enrolled in numerous courses of the School of Architecture, as well as, the School of Industrial Design to learn advanced skills in Adobe Premiere Pro and 3D Studio Max. My desire to excel in my career and to be up-to-date with the newest programs, has prompted me to learn everything that I possibly can about programs such as Revit and V-Ray. I am proud to say that I am very proficient in both of these tools.

In 2011, I started my Master’s in Restoration of Historic Buildings at the same university. I choose this field because I have a lot of experience developing preservation projects since 2005. I have worked closely with architects, engineers, and specialists on the restoration of historic buildings.

Since I moved to St. Louis with my wife in July 2012, I have been volunteering my time doing construction drawings for the improvements to convert a church and early childhood center into a food pantry and social service facility for the Sts. Joachim & Ann Care Service. Familiarizing myself with this country’s constructive systems and building codes has also been a priority for me.

I am eager to continue my career as an architect in the United States and work towards becoming a licensed architect in this country. My multi-cultural background and diverse work experience, along with my creative design skills, enthusiasm, and strong work ethic would make me a great asset to any design team.
