Architectural Design
In every architectural project that I undertake, I do a study of the client’s needs and an investigation on the type of building; be it commercial, residential, hospitality, religious, etc., in order to design a building equipped with the newest installations and technology. Depending on the client’s budget, I develop an architectural proposal and once it is accepted by the client, I proceed with the executive project, which consists of the architectural elevations, sections and facades, construction details, photo realistic images or renders, and the final cost estimate for the project.
I use my creativity and artistic eye to make each project unique and original. Sustainability allows each building to respond to the environment that surrounds it, in order to give the necessary comfort to the users, with the least amount of resources by optimizing them. The result of the architecture is the product of the utilization of the materials from the region and the adaptation to the environment.
Restoration of Historic Buildings
I have experience developing restoration projects since 2005, when I did my professional thesis on the hacienda of Chincua, Michoacán, Mexico, which was built in the 19th century. I went on to work as the City Architect for the Department of Public Works of the Municipality of Maravatio, Michoacán, Mexico, where I had the opportunity to work on various restoration projects, which included the restoration of the San Isidrito Church, the Municipal Auditorium, the Municipal President’s office building, and the Main Plaza and Gazebo. I began working towards my Master’s Degree in Architecture in the area of Restoration of Historic Buildings due to the demand for this type of work and my interest in Historic Architecture.
One of the projects that I am most proud of was the restoration of the Church of San Francisco de Paula, part of the hacienda of Chincua, Michoacán, Mexico. In June of 2011, I had the opportunity to present this project to the migrants from this region of Michoacán who live in Chicago. The restoration of the church began with my project, which obtained resources from the Mexican Government’s SEDESOL 3x1 program for migrants.
3D Renderings
I have created 3D models and virtual fly-throughs since 2004. It is very important to keep up-to-date with the latest software in order to stay on top of the technological advances and compete in the international market. I am always investigating the best and most effective way to create my renders and make them more realistic. Some of the programs that I use include AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max, V-Ray, Revit and video editors like Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
Design
My professors always told me that I possessed natural talent for design which is innate and something that cannot be learned in school, no matter how long one studies. I have the ability to create attractive designs to the demands of the client using my knowledge of a variety of materials while still aiming for the most economical and effective results for the project. Creativity and accomplishment is reflected now in my professional work, when the desired results are obtained to the client's complete satisfaction.
Trade Show Booths
I have designed trade show booths and stands since 2006, when I began to work before graduating from the University. I was the initiator of the design team in a company and went on to become the manager of this team. I have experience managing people and making crucial decisions. My team and I always developed innovative designs that fit within the client’s budget. Due to the great demand for my designs, I decided to do independent freelance work, creating designs for various companies. Therefore, I have experience managing a variety of projects simultaneously on tight deadlines.
Other
I design 2D and 3D logos, furniture, and do hand sketches of all kinds, including portraits, character creation, and architectural drawings. These are some of the ways that I make use of my artistic abilities. The techniques that I use include: pastels, watercolor, charcoal, ink, markers, and colored pencils. An architect should have an artist within him to be complete; in order to transmit his ideas and express himself freely.
